    i have try to connect network from my laptop that use windown vista to my friend laptop that use window xp.
    when connecting my laptop can find my friend laptop but his laptop cant find my laptop. i know i have to set some security for allowing him to search on my pc.
    can any one help me? Wink

    You are correct in thinking the security settings are involved here, The security settings make Vista invisible to XP based systems until you have updated them or changed the settings.

    To put it simply there is 3 sections you will need to update

    1. Control Panel\System\Remote Settings

    2. Control Panel\Windows Firewall\Exceptions

    3. Control Panel\Network Connections\right click your network card\Configure\Share\Settings

    im not really understand about step 2, can you give me more detail i can find exceptions but there are many option for me to tick and untick.

    for step 3 it mean that i have to set on for file sharing Question

    Sorry that was my bad,

    @ Option 2 you want to check

    • Remote Assistance
    • Remote Desktop

    Then click OK

    This will allow the connection to be accepted by the system through your Firewall settings

    @ Option 3 allow file sharing Smile
